What does a case or care management agency do?

These professional agencies manage the care and services received by an older adult. Some seniors employ the assistance of such professionals to give themselves more control over their personal affairs. By hiring professional assistance, they then can access help whenever they feel it is helpful to their situation.

Some adult children hire a private case or care manager to review their parent's medical condition, to ensure quality of care, or to advocate for an older adult to receive appropriate care and services.

In paying privately for services, it is critical to receive a written agreement outlining the projected number of hours and the specific duties and tasks the case or care manager will complete.
